Scientology Information Center Invites Community to Celebrate World Religion Day on January 16th
Learning more about other faiths and thereby fostering peace is the goal of World Religion Day.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2022 - CLEARWATER, FL – In honor of the more than 4,200 international religions, the Scientology Information Center in downtown Clearwater is celebrating World Religion Day with tours of the Center and free materials about the Scientology religion.
Per Bahaiblog.net, “World Religion Day was initiated in 1950 by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States and it is often celebrated on the third Sunday of January. The day has been marked by hosting discussions, conferences, and other events which foster understanding and communication between the followers of all religions. Its purpose is to call attention to the harmony of spiritual principles and the oneness of the world’s religions and to emphasize that world religion is the motivating force for world unity.”
“World Religion Day has been officially observed since 1950,” said Lisa Mansell of the Public Affairs Department of the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization. “This is the same year as the release of L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health – Hubbard’s first broadly published work on the mind and life. In continuing his research, Mr. Hubbard found something even more powerful than the human mind – the spirit.”
The Scientology Information Center consists of multi-media displays that include hundreds of videos covering the basic tenets of Scientology, Mr. Hubbard’s work in the field of social betterment and insider tours of Scientology Churches around the world.
“In The Way to Happiness, Mr. Hubbard wrote ‘Man, since the dawn of the species, has taken great consolation and joy in his religions…Men without faith are a pretty sorry lot.’ On World Religions Day, people are given the opportunity to learn more about other faiths and create harmony between people of different beliefs,” said Ms. Mansell. “We invite you to come and learn more about Scientology and our beliefs.”
The Scientology Information Center is open daily – Sunday through Friday from 10:30am to 7pm and on Saturday from 2pm until 7pm. Appointments are not required. For more information, please call 727-467-6966. For more information about Scientology, please visit www.scientology.org.
About the Church of Scientology: Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and one’s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being. Scientology addresses the spirit—not the body or mind—and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes. Scientology holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.
