School of Inspired Leadership, Gurgaon announces financial support for students joining the not-for-profit sector
In an endeavor to build a generation of socially responsible leaders, SOIL (School of Inspired Leadership), a unit of Grow Talent Co. Ltd., today announced an initiative to financially support students who wish to work with any of the 25 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with which SOIL has entered into a partnership(as also any other NGO's approved by SOIL).
- (1888PressRelease) May 04, 2012 - As per this initiative, basis the NGOs affordability to pay, students of SOIL who will be recruited by them, will receive from the B School, an incremental amount taking the remuneration package up to Rs 5 lakhs, for their first year of work with the NGO. Though the current average salary of a SOIL student is anything between 7.5 to 9.5 lakhs across the 3 leadership programs, the 5 lakh amount is at par with the average salary some NGO's can afford to pay to B-school graduates.
As businesses increasingly focus on the development sector and social inclusion, there is a critical need for young business leaders who are sensitive to social responsibility and are committed to the development sector. Without a nucleus of such future leaders, India's development will not permeate across all levels of society. As a business school committed to providing holistic education, SOIL endeavorsto foster social responsibility in future leaders and understands the critical need to encourage students to work in the development sector. This initiative is designed to motivate students to join the development sector while enjoying the full benefits of a promising career.

The partnership with 25 NGOs is part of SOIL's Social Innovation Program (SIP) to foster social responsibility in future leaders. As part of this program, teams of students at SOIL work closely with NGOs on community development projects. The projects include developing viable business plans, creation of case studies as marketing collaterals and innovative fund raising among other activities. The courses are graded and form an essential component of the curriculum offered by SOIL.
The NGOs with which SOIL has entered into a partnership include Chinmaya Mission, ICONGO, Sakaar Outreach, Tamana, Saakshi, CanSupport, Navjyoti India Foundation, Domesteq, Wild Life Saver Society, SRF, Adharshila, Boond, Etasha, Read India, Aman Biradri (Dil Se Campaign), Deepalaya, Force, Mobile Creches, Salaam Balak Trust, Central Information Commission, Sulabh, Saksham, Uthaan, iamgurgaon, Gene Campaign, Khoj Foundation, Apne Aap, CARE India and UNESCO.
