School Children to Benefit from Buttonwood Art Space "Fair Play" Sports Art Show
Local school children in Kansas City to sell art through Buttonwood Financial Group and its sister company, Buttonwood Art Space during May, 2012. Additional art sales to benefit PE4life, a national 501c3 organization which helps with physical education programs in schools across the nation, providing tools for PE instructors, coaches and other sports activities.
- Kansas City, MO-KS (1888PressRelease) April 18, 2012 - Buttonwood Financial Group, LLC has announced that it will partner with PE4life through its sister company, Buttonwood Art Space, to focus attention on wellness and physical activity among school children. In April and May of this year, Buttonwood will host a sports art show and sale, "Fair Play", with proceeds to benefit the national 501(c)3 PE4life. Over 60 original artworks by local and national artists will be offered for sale with 50% of the net proceeds going to PE4life. In addition, local school children have been creating artworks of their favorite physical activities which will be hung during May. Each student artwork is priced at $55.00 with one-half the purchase price to be paid to the child to encourage their continuing artistic creation and one-half to be paid to the child's school through PE4life.
Featured artist is New York City's Adam Port, one of today's premier sports and celebrity artists (www.adamport.com). Local artists include Keith Shepherd, Jim Ryon, Susan Sinclair Shields, Jamie Lavin, Anthony High, Lee Knox, Christi Roberts Bony, Anthony High, Cathie Kline, Sheila Jewell and works by Ernst Ulmer (1925-2009). The First Friday Reception event is free and open to the public on May 4th, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to meet the artists, students and families. The art exhibition space, located at the Buttonwood offices at 3013 Main Street in Kansas City, MO, supports six art exhibitions each year and participates in the Crossroads First Fridays. Regular gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
