  • (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2012 - HONG KONG - Kearny Alliance scholars studying at Hong Kong Baptist University will help create more jobs for poor and disabled Cambodian workers by selling handmade products at the Hong Kong Parkview Bazaar, Oct. 7, podium level, 88 Tai Tam Reservoir Road, Hong Kong.

    Products available to include silk Christmas ornaments ranging from trees and balls to stars and birds, and silk and recycled iPhone / iPad cases, plus eco-friendly wine bottle holders. 100% of profits go back into the program to help create even more jobs through export sales.

    "I volunteer for this project as I hope that we can keep those needy, hardworking Cambodian producers employed by creating demand and sales here in Hong Kong," said Celeste Tsang. Tsang is a Kearny Alliance scholar studying for her Bachelor of Business Administration at Hong Kong Baptist University.

    The manager of the Export Assistance Program Cambodia, Sokneang Chhour, said: "This project is a win-win-win strategy: People in Hong Kong not only get great unique products, but by buying these gifts, they also create jobs for people in need - and afford the scholars real-world sales and marketing experience." Chhour is a Kearny Alliance scholar and HKBU alumni who returned to her home country after graduation to create livelihood for workers through export sales.
