Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) July 02, 2024 - Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP named John E. Ursin as its new Managing Partner, effective Monday, June 17, 2024.

For more than 30 years, Ursin has utilized his extensive expertise in a wide range of legal specialties to provide valuable and efficient representation as general counsel to closely held companies, private equity, syndicated real estate entities, family offices, insurance companies, government entities and non-profit organizations. His clients include real estate developers, health care providers and senior living facilities, manufacturers, material suppliers, sports-related businesses and insurance companies.

Ursin indicates that he will be very busy in the new role, especially as the firm is actively recruiting a significant number of new attorneys at all levels. He notes that when attorneys hear about SPSK’s structure and culture they are very enthusiastic about joining the firm. However, he was clear that his service to his clients will remain the first priority. He joked that he may have to sleep a little less but pointed out that “30 years ago, I clerked for Judge Ronald B. Graves, who taught me the value of hard work in the pursuit of justice and in providing services to clients. Since then, almost all of the challenges in my professional life have been met and solved with simply working harder. I will work tirelessly in service to the firm in its next phase of growth. I see a very bright future for SPSK.”

Gary Werner served as the firm’s managing partner for the last 8 years and will continue to be involved in planning and recruiting.
