Scandinavian Antiques Dealer Launches New Website
Davidson Scandinavian Antiques Features Many One of a Kind Pieces from the 1600's to the 1900's.
- St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) January 14, 2015 - Davidson Scandinavian Antiques announces the launch of its new website, http://www.dsantiques.com.
The site features extremely rare, authentic and in some cases "stunning" antiques from the 1600s to the 1900s which are featured at the Davidson Scandinavian Antiques showroom at 2316 Schuetz Road in Maryland Heights.
The antiques are from a large collection amassed over the years by owner Don Davidson, also the owner of Davidson Surface Air, an international warehousing, trucking and logistics company.
During his business travels Davidson made friends in Europe and Scandinavia and purchased a home in Denmark. Friends began offering to sell him 17th and 18th century antiques they found at castles and farms in small villages from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway to Germany, England and France. Over time the collection grew to some 300 pieces.
Prices range from just $20 to thousands. Among the historical pieces is a roll top French Kings Desk based off the Bureau du Roi, which was constructed at the end of Louis XV reign, a French multiwood laminate inlay bed valued over $75,000 and multiple Biedermeier dining sets, a style popularized during the mid nineteenth century throughout Europe. Trunks and items dated back to the Vikings are also on display.
"The condition of these pieces is really amazing," Davidson said. "Many are in mahogany, rosewood, birch and pine, all look nearly brand new. We have something for nearly every type of collector with writing desks and cabinets, Danish Christmas and Mother's Day plates, glasswork and beautiful figurines."
"We have been told by many clients that we probably have one of the largest selections of Biedermeier style furniture in the Midwest. Our variety of Biedermeier style furniture ranges from small night stands to full-size dressers, armoires, chests and dining room tables with matching chairs."
Visits to the Davidson Scandinavian Antiques showroom are currently by appointment only. To schedule a visit contact Mike Scalera at 314-298-7783 or visit their website at www.dsantiques.com.
