Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) May 11, 2010 - Sunday, May 16, 2010 Savvy Chic Bags will host an Open House to introduce to Pittsburgh the artistic creations of Wilkins Township jewelry designer Florence Smith.

Florence, a former long-time Project Manager with Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Pittsburgh, has designed jewelry as a hobby for many years, but recently decided to follow her dream and turn her passion into an artistic career.

Florence prefers to work predominantly in various types of metal and metal wire such as copper, brass, sterling silver and other base metals, and she likes to combine unique and funky beadings with her creations.

In addition to her creatively unique design twists, Florence's signature is her hand-crafted jewelry clasps. Not satisfied with traditional and bland jewelry findings, Florence creates clasps that are not only functional, they are beautiful works of art.

The Open House takes place from 11:30 AM to 5 PM Sunday, May 16th at Savvy Chic Bags, located at 5880 Ellsworth Ave. in Shadyside. Light refreshments will be served from 3-5 PM. Call (412) 362-1198 for details.
