- (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2018 - The Australian Utility Week hosted a panel discussion titled “Doing business in the Hyper Connected world: what this means for Utility Staff, Assets and Customers.” It observed industry leaders, technology consultants and thought leaders sharing their views on the innovations, disruptions and respective opportunities for the Utility Industry players in the near future.
The Panelists included conglomerates such as Sydney Water, Transgrid, Smart Energy Water, South East Water and ENGIE Services. Their representatives were Head of Digital Operations at Sydney Water (Jo-Ann Pass), CIO of Transgrid (Russell Morris), VP- Customer Solutions of Smart Energy Water (Lance Brown), GM of South East Water (Phil Johnson) and CEO ANZ at ENGIE Services (Corinee Ong).
The Panel discussion focused on the digital shift from time-based asset health management to condition-based asset health monitoring and self-healing assets. It touched upon real world examples and used cases of applying Artificial Intelligence in Utilities space. Anubhav shared his experience with the need of hyper-connected utility staff and commented on challenges to achieve it in context of today’s Utilities.
