Save The Date! National Steinbeck Center Announces Its 2012 Art Classes & Workshops
Just Announced: Local artist, Paula Vershay will hold a 10-week long art class at The National Steinbeck Center in Salinas.

All classes take place at the National Steinbeck Center
Watercolor: January 11 - March 14 Every Wednesday 12:00PM-2:00PM
Cost: $80.00 for 10 weeks
Even if you have never held a brush or drawn a line - you can learn to paint. Classes are fun and easy. Paint along with the instructor while exploring the Art of Still Life.
Kids Painting: Thursdays 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (This class is ongoing)
Cost: $20.00 per class, includes materials
Research shows that learning art skills can balance your child's learning and helps to build their creative thinking. With creative thinking, kids tend to do better in math, reading, science and general problem solving. Creative children have a more well rounded view of the world, they are not afraid to be expressive, and their self-esteem is strengthened through their artistic accomplishments.
Sketchbook as a Work of Art: January 13 - March 16 Every Friday 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Cost: $80.00 for 10 weeks
A beautifully illustrated sketchbook is the envy of every artist. This class focuses not only on perspective but the principles and elements of art and design. We utilize not only pencil but pen and ink as well. Some students add watercolor to their renderings. This is a great place for a beginner as well as the more seasoned artist.
Beginning Oil Painting: January 13 - March 16 Every Friday 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Cost: $80.00 for 10 weeks
Steinbeck Country is rich in a variety of subjects that become the topics of these classes. Paint along with the instructor and create wonderful works of art. It is a great place to learn to paint.
Instructor Paula Vershay has encompassed a multi-faceted approach to the arts. Having had her start in the study of architecture, she found painting to be her true vocation. She has produced murals, owned and operated an art gallery, studio and retail store. She was featured in a series of how to paint television programs, and has been a credentialed instructor at Salinas Adult School for the past ten years.
