The Wooden Window Workshop has officially declared to the global scientific community that they have found a fast, practical and consistent method of laboratory grown timber.
It is now possible to grow test tube wood in any shape or form
(1888PressRelease) March 31, 2010 - After twenty long years of research into laboratory grown timber a London based sash window Restoration Company called The Wooden Window Workshop report that they have now developed new technology that can effectively grow timber to order in test tubes.
The secret research has been underway at a discrete London laboratory and has cost the company a small fortune in financing but this crazy idea seems now to have paid off.
A company spokesperson was reported saying "we can now effectively grow on demand any timber in any shape or form all under laboratory conditions and at lightening speed, something we did not perceive possible when we started the research back in 1991"
The new environmentally friendly system could bring an immediate end to global deforestation and eliminate the need for joinery methods currently being used to create timber products such as windows and doors.
Timber can now be grown into any form desired, with the age old problem of wet rot and decay being a thing of the past as the new timber is genetically modified to defend against decay for up to 20 years longer than its naturally grown alternative.
Professor Nathan Colwell who has been leading the research said:
"Can you imagine having wooden windows grown to order? We can grow full wooden windows within three weeks and the windows have absolutely no joints as they are grown directly into any window shape as desired"
The company reports that they will start offering their unique timber to the market place within the next few months and are expecting a relative storm of interest from around the globe. The company has made assurances to any potential client that they are fully equipped to take on the massive demand that the system could obviously create.
