Sarku Japan Expands Street Concept Into Northern Virginia
First location to launch in Alexandria at the Kings Crossing shopping plaza.
- (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2013 - (ALEXANDRIA, VA) - Sarku JapanŽ, the largest and most successful Japanese Quick Service Restaurant chain (QSR) in the United States, will take its sizzling teriyaki and made-to-order sushi from mall food courts to the streets of Northern Virginia. The brand will debut its first Virginia Teriyaki and Sushi Express street concept in Alexandria at the Kings Crossing Shopping Plaza. The location, which is a corporate store, will be the first of three slated to open in Northern, Virginia before the end of the year.
"Ever since opening our street locations in Maryland, we've received a tremendous response from customers in the metro DC area," said Bruce Kim, Assistant Vice President of Franchises. "Due to store visibility and brand resonance, Northern, Virginia was the logistical next step for the expansion of the street concept."
Touting the brand promise "fresh happens here," Sarku chefs prepare made-to-order sushi and signature Teriyaki recipes on a Teppanyaki grill in open view for guests to enjoy. Sarku JapanŽ uses only the finest ingredients - including chicken, beef, seafood, and fresh garden vegetables. All dishes are trans-fat free with no MSG added.
By maintaining the brand's winning formula of healthy cooking and great value, Sarku's freshly made-to-order meals will now serve as a healthier fast food alternative for Northern Virginia residents on the go.
Traditionally located in mall food courts nationally, Sarku expanded its brand in 2008 with the launch of its street concept in major metro markets including New York, DC, Atlanta, Chicago and LA.
