  • (1888PressRelease) December 29, 2010 - Singapore - The warm hospitality and elegant Mediterranean-Catalan cuisine of SANTI have earned the restaurant the coveted award of Best New Restaurant in the prestigious Singapore Tatler Best Restaurants Guide 2011.

    Opened in May 2010 to rave reviews, SANTI's inspiring win is a recognition of celebrity chef Santi Santamaria's genius: creating culinary masterpieces that draws on his Catalan roots and mirrors his quest for excellence and intricacy; while connecting guests to his award-winning restaurant Can Fabes in his hometown of Sant Celoni, Spain.

    The "Best New Restaurant Award" was given out this week by Singapore Tatler, which has been running Singapore's Best Restaurants guide for 26 years. Receiving the award in the glittering ceremony attended by the industry's best were the executive chef of SANTI, Daniel Chevaz and Santi's daughter Regina Santamaria.

    Apart from SANTI, three other restaurants from Marina Bay Sands made their debut into the authoritative guide of the city's finest restaurants. They are celebrity chef restaurants Guy Savoy and Waku Ghin; as well as the RISE restaurant. Dinning in Singapore has become a unique experience as these restaurants deliver unique flavors and textures to all its diners.

    Dressed in rustic dark woods and accented by custom artwork 'graffiti' overlaying modern glass enclosures, SANTI's décor reflects the warmth of Can Fabes, which is also the chef's family home for the past two centuries. SANTI comprises of a cosy tapas bar and lounge at the entrance of the restaurant and an 80-seat fine-dining section that offers a truly exquisite gastronomic experience.
