Santanna has offices in Hinsdale, Ill.; Austin; and in Southfield, Mich.
The certification is a regulatory requirement in Illinois for companies wishing to approach multiple electric suppliers to obtain the best financial options for their customers.
Early in 2010, Santanna opened its office in Southfield and launched its natural gas marketing program to residential and small business customers.
The company had already been serving the natural gas needs of large commercial and industrial customers in Michigan for more than a decade and over 20 years in Illinois. By late summer 2010, it had a customer base of 63,000 in those states.
Santanna employs more than 60 full- and part-time staff members in the various communities it serves.
