- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) April 21, 2014 - Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club hopes to fill a void for aspiring Juniors on the West side of Los Angeles with its new community based sailing program. The activities include open format after school sailing on Thursday afternoons and structured Summer sessions for children 7-13 years old.
The club's location adjacent to Burton Chase Park and its facilities and diverse club owned fleet of boats offer the ideal location for educational activities focused on sailing, safety and the love of nature. Instruction is provided by US Sailing certified instructors and follows the curriculum used by the majority of successful programs around the country.
Program costs are very affordable and all boats are provided by Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club. While the initial focus is on developing a love of the sport, racing programs are contemplated as interest is driven by the children with an Optimist Green team contemplated for 2015.
