According to San Diego Jewelry Buyers, its gold refining process does not significantly add to the cost of creating fine jewelry. The company reports that it currently sells its recycled gold at 5% above the current market price for gold. Jewelry artisans who buy this gold will often then adjust their labor costs accordingly so that no increase in retail price occurs, while others slightly increase their sales prices by only one to two percent.
