San Diego Community Assist Presents the Inspire Community Unity Awards Show Gala Hosted by Flex and Shanice Alexander
Flex and Shanice Alexander hosted the SDCA awards gala that celebrated the hard work and dedication of volunteers, teachers, leaders, and organizations who bring daily essentials to families in underserved San Diego neighborhoods.

Flex Alexander married Grammy® nominated R&B singer Shanice Wilson in 2000 on Valentine's Day. They have two children: daughter Imani Shekinah Alexander-Knox, born in 2001, and son Elijah Alexander-Knox, born in 2004. Early in his career, while dancing in New York City clubs, he earned the nickname "Flex" due to his acrobatic ability.
Shanice's worldwide smash, I Love Your Smile, a pop hit in twenty-two countries, brought her a Grammy® nomination, Germany's Golden Lion Award, and international stardom! Always a fan of beauty and make-up, Shanice recently launched her own lipstick line, "Smile By Shanice," which is vegan and non-toxic.
San Diego Community Assist (SDCA), a 501c3 charity, hosted the high-profile event included special dignitary appearances by the Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber, the Honorable Mayor Todd Gloria, San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit, and Ms. Kathleen Harmon.
