Sakyamuni Birthday Celebration May 28th
A celebration for the birth of the Buddha.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2012 - The Buddha's birthday will be celebrated, on May 28, 2012 in Amsterdam New York, in a special event featuring artistic and cultural performances.
In order to facilitate cultural exchange, Guang Huan Mi Zong, along with the World Peace and Health Organization, will co-host this celebration ceremony. "The birth of Sakyamuni Buddha has brought light and hope to all the beings in the world." said Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi, the founder of both organizations. "We're here to promote cooperation, prosperity and harmony for both the eastern and the western worlds."
Despite of all the difficulties this Buddhist group has encountered, including Buddha statues being stolen from their temple, a series of acts of vandalism in their properties, and all the troubles caused by cultural and communication barriers in the past years, they still want to bring something wonderful to the community.
For all the volunteers in the organizations, and the people in the city, this is a significant event that can bring vitality and joy, at the time when the world is facing economic recession, political turbulence, and natural disasters.
"Celebrating Sakyamuni Buddha's birthday on Memorial Day is very meaningful. It's about the dharma of life and death that Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi has talked about. I'm looking forward to attending this great ceremony." said Jasper, one of the Holy Master's students from Toronto.
Coming guests will enjoy divine energy blessing, delicious food, beautiful songs and exotic dance performance in the celebration. The admission is free.
