- Albuquerque, NM (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2018 - Forerunners in online education, EC-Council University (ECCU) and Sabi University (SU) recently announced their association to create customized, fast-track, credit based dual-degree programs. These degree programs would be an exceptional asset to professionals looking to learn the finesse of a global management program and the intricacies of a highly technical subject such as Cybersecurity.
All existing and newly enrolled students from SU will benefit from this dual degree program as they can acquire an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) or Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degree in cybersecurity. The core courses in the cybersecurity specialization coming from ECCU. ECCU will accept the core credits in business management from the EMBA degree program of SU and students will need only the core cybersecurity courses at ECCU. Therefore, with 18 credit hours in business management from SU’s EMBA and 21 credit hours in cybersecurity from ECCU’s Master of Science in Cyber Security (MSCS) the student will earn two degrees, which otherwise would require 72 credit hours from the 2 universities if done independently.
Cybersecurity Spending to Exceed $1 Trillion from 2017 to 2021.
According to the CSO Online Cybersecurity Business Report , Cyber-crime will more than triple the number of unfilled cybersecurity jobs, which is predicted to reach 3.5 million by 2021. The same report predicts that the Global ransomware damage costs will exceed $5 billion in 2018.
These statistics point to the dire need of having management professionals understand cyber security as cyber security needs to be weaved into the business strategy of businesses.
A Transformational Program
The unique MSCS +EMBA degree can promote educational and career opportunities for the students of SU and ECCU. The program has been designed in a unique style that allows for preservation of credits. To provide a smooth curriculum transition for students, this program allows them to transfer from SU to ECCU, as well as, from ECCU to SU without the loss of credits or duplication of coursework.
Preservation of Credits
In this association, SU and ECCU will be accepting one another’s credits for the Master of Science in Cyber Security (MSCS); and grant an EMBA or Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in Cybersecurity. Each university accepting the specialization courses in Management or Cybersecurity into each other’s programs as the core content in that discipline. The compelling value proposition for individuals is that SU and ECCU each provide their unique academic strength in the EMBA and DBA in satisfying course and degree requirements. A student gains the benefit of both SU’s global management and ECCU’s technical cybersecurity academic and applied expertise.
Usually it would take a student, 36 credit hours’ worth to secure the MSCS degree by ECCU. A student of the Joint EMBA-MSCS degree program however has the ability to complete both degrees in 39 credit hours. 18 credits hours’ in business management from SU and 21 credit hours in Cybersecurity from ECCU. They can study courses of the EMBA and MSCS program and will have the privilege of attaining 2 fully accredited Master’s degrees.
To put things in perspective, it also takes 36 credit hours’ worth, to attain the SU EMBA program individually. So, in one scenario where a student would have to invest 36+36 = 72 credit hours’ worth in attaining 2 unique degrees, the joint EMBA in Cybersecurity offers the time-efficient option of attaining 2 world class degrees in 39 credit hours’ worth only! The flexibility in course selection allows for the candidate to choose from the allotted courses in any order, unless any one of them mandates a pre-requisite course.
An Accelerated Doctoral Program
Students of the joint EMBA-MSCS program, with a minimum work experience of 5 years, have a fast track to a Doctorate laid out for them. With the 21 credit hours in cybersecurity that a student gains from the MSCS Program in the Joint EMBA program, one can seamlessly make a transition to the DBA program and have the 21 credits hours’ worth transferred. This implies that in just 39 more credits hours’ worth, the said candidate can gain a Doctorate Degree to their credit.
With the offering of the DBA program in Cybersecurity at SU students of cybersecurity from the full MSCS at ECCU have an easy option to upgrade to a Management Doctorate Program in Cybersecurity. For candidates with 10 years’ work experience and the full MSCS program of 36 credits hours’ worth of education to their name, can experience a seamless transfer of credits to Sabi University for the Executive DBA program. This means that a candidate fulfilling such requirements will only need to put in an additional 24 credit hours’ worth, to attain a Doctorate Degree. Essentially researching, writing and defending their dissertation at SU with the foundational graduate courses in cybersecurity and management coming from the work at ECCU.
EC-Council Certifications
All the programs contain core cyber security content that maps to EC-Council’s industry certifications which can be tested for at the completion of each the 5 courses that contain the material for the certification exams. These will be provided at no cost to students who successfully complete the associated graduate course. The certifications are:
