S P Jain Center of Management unveils the World Champions of the Brain Triathlon Challenge
S P Jain Center of Management declared the winners of its first global Brain Triathlon challenge held at their Singapore campus. The challenge witnessed participation from 42 IB schools across 13 countries out of which final three winners were declared by the eminent panel of jury based on the overall performance of the students.
- (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2011 - Singapore: Jeffery Wang from China, Peerakarn Manakit (Pete) from Thailand and Harshwardhan Jayesh Shah from India were declared the winners of the first World Championships of the Brain Triathlon Challenge hosted at the S P Jain Center of Management Singapore campus from 24th to 26th June, 2011. The Brian Triathlon Challenge is a contest for International Baccalaureate worldwide conceptualised by S P Jain Center of Management.
In its inaugural year the Brain Triathlon Challenge witnessed participation from 42 IB schools across 13 countries out of which 29 schools from 11 different countries - UK, USA, Australia, India, China, Singapore, Qatar to name a few - were short listed to compete for the World Championship.
Students from each participating school had to compete among themselves in three rigorous tests provided by S P Jain. The student with highest marks was selected as the Brain Triathlon Champion of the School and represented the school at the challenging finals held in Singapore. These short-listed 29 students were again given an even more challenging Aptitude Test, Quiz and Business Paper Presentation followed by a Viva round. Based on overall performance, three deserving winners were declared by the jury.
The Brain Triathlon contest is a unique initiative by S P Jain Center of Management to recognize students with impressive calibre and distinctive talents to compete in all 3 (Aptitude Test, Quiz and Business Paper Presentation), thereby rewarding them in the wake of the Complete Education philosophy of its Global BBA program.
While declaring the winners, Mr Nitish Jain, President, S P Jain Center of Management conveyed his views on the importance of 'Complete Education', "I believe it is important for students to not just possess knowledge but also the right mindset to apply knowledge to craft them as global business leaders. At S P Jain, this philosophy of 'Complete Education' is followed through our unique twin-city model for the Global BBA Program which involves 2 years in Singapore + 2 years in Sydney. This supports tolerance toward other cultures exposing students firsthand to the nuances of the local business environment and culture, thus leading to experiential learning and global thinking. I would also like to congratulate all the winners of the Brain Triathlon contest. Looking at overwhelming response and the immense calibre in students, we assure to organize the Brain Triathlon every year and give all a platform to showcase their talent."
The winners were selected by a panel of eminent jury which consisted of educationists and industry professionals like:
William Gibson, Head of the Department of Journalism and a member of the Academic Board of Studies & Assessment at SAE Institute, Singapore.
Sara Yik, Managing Director of Callahan associates, Singapore
James Kazakoff, Proprietor of three patents has formerly been associated with Hewlett Packard Company.
Vikram Kalloo, Communications and effectiveness trainer with 10 years experience in corporate and academic environments.
