The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers and professional service providers who have achieved superior performance. S&ME maintained a Silver composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period from Oct. 1, 2010, to Sept. 30, 2011 for its services during construction of Boeing's Charleston, South Carolina 787 Dreamliner Campus. Vice President Angela Musselwhite, PE, S&ME's project manager for the Boeing work, thanked both her staff and those from Boeing with whom they worked. "We were most fortunate in forging an outstanding professional relationship with Boeing. Just being a part of this exciting project, and all it means to the Charleston region, has been quite an honor. But receiving recognition like this from an organization like The Boeing Company is a highlight for our firm and all our employees' careers."
S&ME services to Boeing during the award period included geotechnical exploration and engineering design, International Building Code (IBC) Special Inspections, construction material testing, and indoor air quality testing for leadership in energy and environmental design( LEED) certification. S&ME's services for this project were associated with design and construction of Boeing's 787 final assembly building, site services building, delivery center, welcome center, truck inspection building, HUB employee center expansion and the offsite Interiors Responsibility Center in Palmetto Commerce Park.
