- (1888PressRelease) December 30, 2011 - As one of the first European power generators, RWE fulfills the transparency standards, the European Union has defined in its directive “Regulation on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency“ (REMIT). From today, the directive obliges all power station operators to inform the public in as much detail as possible and as quickly as possible about the current status of electricity production and about any problems at the power stations that could lead to lower performance or even plant outages.
RWE publishes extensive data of all power units operated by the Group on www.rwetransparent.com. RWE and its subsidiaries generate power primarily in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. The transparency homepage provides all essential information about the individual units of the power stations – where ever possible in real time and for every single unit. As a result, any interested user can gain a precise picture of the output of RWE power stations.
RWE has been demonstrating the Energy to Lead with its transparency initiative since 2007. That was the year the company started to publish extensive data on the German electricity generation of its power stations – on its own initiative and free of charge for all users.
