  • (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2018 - Russia’s Ural Federal University of Ekaterinburg has entered the QS World University Rankings – Masters in Management, published on September 26. “International Management”, a program offered by the Graduate School of Economics and Management UrFU, was included in the 101+ group of the ranking.

“Getting into the ranking will make us known not only in Russia but in the rest of the world as well, which means being able to recruit more students from abroad”, says Ludmila Ruzhanskaya, head of the program. “We are sure that this is the only way to take down the barriers on the way to internationalization of the Russian universities. Moreover, we believe that the high position in the ranking will let us extend the academic partnerships network and improve their quality”.

The ranking, which is divided into four business education areas, features three Russian universities: Ural Federal University, Higher School of Economics and Saint Petersburg State University.

The “International Management” program gives its students the opportunity to receive a second degree from the HEC Management School, University of Liège. The program is accredited by ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

Ludmila Ruzhanskaya also adds that the possibility to choose between the two tracks offered within the program – “International Financial Management” or “International Business” – significantly improves the graduates’ employability in any country of the world. As the experts point out, the ranking agencies pay special attention to graduates’ career success.

The methodology of the Master’s programs ranking is significantly different from those used in the QS institutional and subject rankings, although it is built mainly upon the data used in those rankings. The Business Masters Ranking is compiled on the basis of five key metrics, each rated from 1 to 100 points: employability, entrepreneurship and alumni success, return on investment, thought leadership and class & faculty diversity.

The indicators are calculated based on data provided by universities, employer and academic expert surveys data, Scopus database, top management lists (Forbes and over 150 others), and the Mercer Cost of Living City Index.
