Russell Stamper II for 5th District County Supervisor Supports Local SOCK Drive for Shelters
Saturday, January 21, 2012, Team Stamper and Muhibb Dyer's Children Are Crying Calendar Initiative is the official kick off day for the Serving Our Community Kindness and Support Drive (SOCKS).
- Milwaukee-Waukesha, WI (1888PressRelease) January 22, 2012 - Their goal is to collect 200 pairs of new socks for adults and children that are living in homeless and domestic abuse shelters throughout the city of Milwaukee.
Team Stamper will be at a local business in the 5th district, Kempo Goju School of Karate, located at 4511 W. North Avenue from 2pm to 4pm with collection bins. Donations of new socks or a cash donation to purchase socks are accepted. If you are not able to make it out today, collection bins will be onsite at this place of business every Saturday through February 11th, 2012, at the same location. If you are not able to drop off your donation, please call to schedule a pick up.
"Socks are one of the most needed items among families in distressed situations," says Russell Stamper II. "My team supports this worthy cause because it is a basic need that so many of us take for granted, but is a valued luxury to others. Imagine if you had to go out and brave the elements without owning any socks. Or even worse, you had to send your children to school or the bus stops without socks knowing their feet would get cold and wet."
Russell Stamper II is in the Community, from the Community and for the Community. Don't forget to vote for Russell Stamper II for County Supervisor 5th District on February 21st, 2012.
