Rumberger Kirk Attorney LaShawnda Jackson Sworn in as President of Young Lawyers Section
Partner LaShawnda Jackson is elected as President of Orange County Bar Associaton's Young Lawyers Section in Florida.
- (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2011 - ORLANDO - Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell partner, LaShawnda Jackson, has been sworn in as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Orange County Bar Association. Jackson, a member of the OCBA since 2002, is looking forward to the next year, "The Young Lawyers Section is a wonderful resource for young lawyers seeking to develop their leadership abilities while doing worthwhile community and service projects and I am honored to lead the section as it continues to prepare attorneys to be community leaders."
The OCBA Young Lawyer Section is comprised of Central Florida attorneys who are under the age of 36 or have practiced law for less than five years. Members connect through educational, community outreach, social and sporting activities. A key component of the section is its pro bono activities, which benefit the community. "Having the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life is so fulfilling," said Jackson. "The section encourages all its members to become active on a public service committee, work on a charitable project or work on a project that promotes the development and growth of law students and young lawyers." Jackson is also actively involved with The Florida Bar, serving on the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors.
Jackson practices in the areas of casualty defense, product liability and insurance coverage. From Brevard County, she received her BA in political science from the University of Florida and was awarded her law degree from University of Florida College of Law. Jackson has been practicing law with Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell since 2002.
