- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2011 - Routes2Roots and Advit Foundation in association with ICCR promise to indulge music aficionados with rocking music with their upcoming enviro-peace concert, My Earth My Duty'. The extraordinaire rock concert will be held at HUDA gymkhana, Gurgaon on 23rd November 2011 and on 24th November 2011 it will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Weight lifting Auditorium New Delhi. The enviro-peace concert aims to generate environment awareness among the society through music and is an initiative by Zee News.
The famous Indian rock band Parikrama and the New York based 'solar' band Solar Punch will mesmerize rock lovers with their power house performances. Solar Punch is a unique international band who plays 'environmental rock' and use solar powered instruments and sound systems. Parikrama, an institution in Indian rock, their music is a fusion of Indian classical instruments with conventional instruments.
Melodious and versatile singer Kabul will also perform to let the music lovers experience tranquillity with his soulful music in the form of Sufi, Hindustani Classical, and Folk to popular foot tapping chartbusters. He has also shared the stage with maestro like Shafqat Amanat Ali and has performed for many solo shows. He will be performing on 23rd Nov'11 at HUDA gymkhana, Gurgaon.
A special awareness campaign will be launched to make the common people join the movement of saving the planet earth by coming in car pools, public transport for this concert. Most of the lighting in the auditorium shall be from Solar Charged source. The invites shall be printed on recycled paper. Special recognition will be given to people who have contributed to nature/climate by plantations. The generators shall run on Bio Diesel. This will be the first eco friendly initiative in India and shall be Zero Carbon Foot Print concert. The carbon emissions will be audited by CMS/ Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park. Solar punch will travel around Delhi & Gurgaon in a mini van having solar panels on the roof to charge their instruments.
The rock concert is a joint initiative between Routes2Roots and Advit foundation. Routes2Roots has been constantly organizing and conducting cultural events and exhibitions around the world. It intends to spread awareness on solutions for climate change and sustainable living with their rock concert.
Advit Foundation is a non-governmental development organization, working for environmental conservation & livelihood enhancement. Advit works towards promotion of Renewable Energy through the Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park, located in Gurgaon.
To create mass awareness on environment & use of solar energy, Solar Punch will also perform at the State Level Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park, Gurgaon, American Centre, New Delhi and some select schools in Gurgaon, These events will not only witness a musical performance but also a demonstration of how the Sun's energy powers their musical instruments!
