Aikido, often described as zen in motion, is a modern Japanese martial art rooted in traditional ju-jitsu techniques. Primarily defensive in nature, Aikido focuses heavily on attack evasion, mighty throws and controlling joint locks during a defensive posture. It does not rely upon size, strength or athletic ability, making it ideal for youths, women or smaller individuals.
The class will be lead by Sensei Simone Maranto, Sandan (3rd Dan aikikai) and a number of other volunteer instructors with decades of martial experience.
