Rome Resources Exploration at Don Luis & La Colorada-Esmeralda, Sonora-September 17, 2011
We attended and were able to interact directly and positively with both the President and the Sub-Secretary of the Sonoran government. I think that we were the only mining group present, and my sense is that this was an appreciated and important communication effort on our part.
- (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2011 - RC drilling continued on the East Zone at Don Luis. Water has been encountered in the last two holes at about 35 meters. Consequently, we are trying to set up a tricone bit reamer so that one of these holes can be modified for use as a water-well by the local ranchers. There are no wells in this valley and a water source for livestock there would be a huge asset to the ranchers-and a tremendous aid to future negotiation that Rome might have with them. We have hired a bulldozer to fill in our trenches and to construct an additional one in the West Zone. The bulldozer arrived in San Miguel on Saturday and will start work on the property next Monday.
Early in the week we obtained a letter from the President of the Municipality of La Colorada (these municipalities are large important political divisions not restricted to only the one town of La Colorada) for permission to do trenching and drilling on the La Colorada-Esmeralda Property. This letter, which was graciously granted, is a necessary part of our submission to the governmental environment-access-permission granting SEMARNAT, which will be submitted next week. The President invited us to his Annual Address and fiesta. We attended and were able to interact directly and positively with both the President and the Sub-Secretary of the Sonoran government. I think that we were the only mining group present, and my sense is that this was an appreciated and important communication effort on our part. It could help us immeasurably in the future.
Next week we are waiting for a new part for our drill. With respect to the La Colorada-Esmeralda Property, the application to SEMARNAT will be submitted and layout of trenches will continue.
