Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to Host Gift of Life Marrow Donor Drive
Jewish Heritage Day event aims to save lives of patients suffering from blood cancer and in need of a transplant.
- (1888PressRelease) February 22, 2018 - Blood cancer is diagnosed in a child or adult every three minutes in the United States. It can strike any one of us at any time. Join Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium as they host a marrow donor recruitment drive at their Jewish Heritage Day game presented by the Jewish National Fund.
The drive, held on behalf of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium from 11:30 am-3:30 pm during the St. Louis Cardinals vs the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros matchup.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients suffering from diseases like leukemia and lymphoma, and in dire need of a marrow transplant. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are someone’s life-saving match. It’s fast and painless.
On Sunday, March 25, Gift of Life will be back out at the ballpark along with the organization's local marrow donors who will be honored on the field pregame. There will also be an opportunity to join the registry during the game.
