RocketHub Showcases Crowdfunding Success At The Living Room
RocketHub Partners With The Living Room To Bring Crowdfunding To Life With The Debut RocketHub Records Release And Musical Showcase.
- (1888PressRelease) January 28, 2011 - RocketHub, a grassroots crowdfunding community developed for Creatives by Creatives, has partnered with The Living Room, a prestigious music venue in New York City, to celebrate the debut album from RocketHub Records. The night will feature original music from three successful artists from the RocketHub community and will be the premier of the self-titled debut album by "Brian & Silbin and Friends."
The new full-length album by musical collective "Brian & Silbin and Friends" will be released for the first time to the public through RocketHub Records at The Living Room. The musical collective successfully raised over $5,000 on RocketHub's crowdfunding platform to create the album. The group will perform the new music from the record at the event.
Evan Shinners will also perform at the RocketHub Showcase - he was recently featured on the cover of New York Times Arts section and on the CBS television show "Eye on New York." He will showcase with his piano rock band, SUITS! Shinners raised over $5,000 on RocketHub's crowdfunding platform for the CD release of his live Bach performances.
Shinners recently dazzled New York City audiences through a set of audacious piano performances at The Museum of Modern Art in midtown Manhattan. Over 10,000 MoMA attendees witnessed him play piano upside down during his residency in the ninth installment of the Performance Exhibition Series at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA): "Stop, Repair, Prepare: Variations on Ode to Joy for a Prepared Piano (2008)."
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, Jeannine Hebb, will also be featured in the RocketHub Showcase. Comparisons of Jeannine have been made to Fiona Apple, Laura Nyro, and Regina Spektor. Her music campaign successfully raised nearly $3,000 on RocketHub.
Notable music-review blog, Wildy's World, writes Hebb is "a musical revelation for those tired of the usual tricks of the Pop trade...with a voice that's quite possibly one of the most striking in popular music."
