Robocon 2014 - a curtain raiser
The theme for Robocon 2014 is "A Salute to Parenthood". The theme dedicated to parenthood, emphasizing parenthood is the greatest boon offered by Mother Nature.
- (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2014 - Robocon 2014 is few days away. The international robotic contest founded by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union is in its 13th year. The event this year "ABURocon2014" as it is called, is proudly hosted by Doordarshan, ABU member in India, and MITAOE, Pune. The event that will be a spectacle of science, technology, machines, design is happening on August 24 at Pune. In India, Mr Mukesh Kumar from Doordarshan and Dr Sunil Karad from MITAOE have been instrumental to promote the contest and host the international contest the second time.
Robocon National is the prelude to the international event. The contest that is a platform for rising talent in engineering, technology institutes around the country to participate and create robotic machines for the theme. The robotic machines created by the participating teams have to complete a set task in a specified time. The winner and runner-up of the national contest represent the host country in the international contest. Nirma Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad and VJTI, Mumbai will represent India for ABURobocon2014.
Robocon, as the name suggests is all about "Robotics" or "Robotic machines". The event "world class" as it is known draws talent of high caliber around the world. Individuals who have been consistent performers of science, technology at national level meet in their respective countries are selected to perform at the meet. The opportunity, the platform that is not only about performing and winning the contest, but also about meeting, exchange of ideas, information from tech geeks from participating nations.
The theme carefully selected to honor parenthood; the wide range of physical, emotional, social and intellectual support that parents bestow on children from infancy to adulthood. It is the combination of love, security, stimulation, encouragement and opportunities that parents give to the child to flourish and recognize their full potential.
To make the event reach to the largest audience, organizers have made arrangement to telecast the event live on DD -Sports and DD- Sahyadri exclusively. Other than this Robocon will be telecasted on sixteen other channels, the National broadcasters of all the participating countries. Get set going to watch robots in action.
