Robert Treat Hotel to Host Super Bowl Weekend Events
Newark Property Serving as a Home Base for Ticketholders and Fans.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) January 24, 2014 - The Best Western Robert Treat Hotel, 50 Park Place in Newark, is gearing up for an action-packed Super Bowl weekend, with a number of special events open to the public. With New Jersey Light Rail service to MetLife Stadium just steps from its front door, the hotel is serving as a home base for Super Bowl XLVIII ticketholders and fans.
The weekend will kick off with a special dinner and jazz event on Friday, Jan. 31, beginning at 8 p.m. Guests will enjoy live music and a buffet including a carving table, chicken marsala, grilled salmon, a variety of side dishes and a cash bar. Following dinner, DJ music and dancing will round out the evening. The cost is $25 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
An NFL-sanctioned "Breakfast of Champions" at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, will honor Super Bowl XXV MVP Ottis Anderson; Thabiti Boone, President Obama's Fatherhood Initiative Representative; and NJ Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly. NBC Extra's AJ Calloway will emcee the event, and former Notre Dame and NFL player Braynard "Bobby" Brown will serve as keynote speaker.
The hotel will serve as the site for a celebrity-studded dance party on Saturday night. Sponsored by Jay Upscale Promotions, this event begins at 9 p.m. and promises to be one of the Super Bowl's largest pre-game celebrations. Several past and current professional sports players will be in attendance. VIP sections are available.
A Super Bowl Sunday party on Feb. 2 will feature game coverage on big screens beginning at 4 p.m. General admission will include a buffet and cash bar. VIP admission also includes beer and wine, a tee-shirt, and complimentary parking.
