Robert T. Horst Joins Curtin & Heefner as Partner in Litigation Section
Bucks County Law Firm Adds New Partner.

Horst, Esquire, has joined as a partner in its Litigation Section. Mr. Horst will focus his practice on insurance coverage disputes, advice and the defense of extra-contractual litigation against insurers. He has a particular interest and expertise in the handling of matters involving property damage, business income, agent/broker litigation, trade credit and class actions. He will work in the firm's Doylestown, Pa., office.

Mr. Horst said that he is very pleased to join a law firm with a solid litigation practice throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and Bucks County, in particular, while being able to offer clients more competitive rates than those offered by larger law firms.

Mr. Horst brings more than two decades of insurance litigation experience to the firm. He has tried more than 40 jury trials to verdict, and has handled insurance litigation matters pro hac vice in numerous jurisdictions throughout the U.S., including national class action cases, high stakes bad faith litigation, and international arbitrations.
A frequent lecturer, Mr. Horst has addressed insurance law, bad faith, trial tactics, law firm management, the constitutionality of punitive damages, and legal ethics. He co-authored and edited the book Extracontractual Litigation Against Insurers published by American Lawyer Media and, since 2007, has served as General Counsel to the International Association of Special Investigative Units, the insurance industry's largest fraud fighting organization. Mr. Horst also serves on the National Committee for the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He has been recognized by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Philadelphia magazine, as a Super Lawyer® each year since 2006. The Legal Intelligencer and PA Law Weekly named him one of Pennsylvania's "Fifty on the Fast Track" in 2002.
