RJF Team Cares Charity Hosts October Fundraiser to Benefit Central Texans in Need
Round Rock-based charity conduit RJF Team Cares hosts fundraiser to raise monies and awareness for local philanthropies.
- Austin-San Marcos, TX (1888PressRelease) September 01, 2016 - The Round Rock-based community charity organization RJF Team Cares invites Central Texans to join them at their first ever "Poker and Purses" fundraiser event on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 7:00 pm at the Old Settlers Association, 3300 E. Palm Valley Boulevard in Round Rock. Tickets are $42 and may be purchased online at the RJF Team Cares website.
The "Poker and Purses" event benefits the RJF Team Cares charity, a unique local 501c3 organization that not only donates monies to various local non-profits and individuals in need, but also aims to raise awareness for these causes. It does this by his by asking local citizens to nominate deserving groups in the community, which are then highlighted on the RJF Team Cares website and social media outlets. Locals vote on which group they would like supported that month. This charity conduit was launched by the RJF Team Realtors. According to founder Robert Fischer, "Our real estate team always talks about building something bigger than ourselves. Starting a charity was just one thing that naturally came out of that. And we wanted to start a charity that 1) finds the needs in the community, 2) gives back to the community and 3) gets the community aware and involved." Since its inception in 2016, the organization has already donated over $20,000 to Central Texas charities, missions, and individuals. Some of the local non-profits who have been recipients of RJF Team Cares funds include Starry, Project Care Case, Pick with Austin, and the Set Free Alliance.
Event planners hope that the fundraiser enables them to expand donations in the coming year, helping even more charities, missions and churches, and needy individuals. The evening will include food, drinks, entertainment and high-end prizes like several designer Kate Spade handbags. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the community-nominated and community-voted philanthropies that RJF Team Cares plans to support over the next year.
The RJF Team Cares charity has big dreams for the future. Fischer says, "We can see this growing and connecting with so many that we could give away $1,000,000 a year while bringing a lot awareness to those in need. What if we got to a place where the community is constantly thinking of people in need of help so they can nominate and vote for them to get some financial support? If our community started always looking for those in need around us, how might that change where we live? The potential of where this can go is limitless and I'm so excited to see it kicked off in grand fashion so quickly."
The charity is also looking for corporate sponsors and underwriters for the "Poker and Purses" fundraiser event. Interested parties may find information on the RJF Team Cares website.
