RIPA International introduces Green paperless programmes
As part of its work to maximize resource efficiency, minimize our environmental impact (reducing waste and use of paper), and improving its services to its clients, RIPA International will remove paper altogether from its learning programmes.
- (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2013 - From 29 July 2013, all learning materials will be preloaded onto an advanced e-reader, which delegates will take home with them after the programme to allow for easy access to lessons learned and to help facilitate their implementation with the sending organisations.
As a highly IT literate organisation, electronic document management is used extensively across the Group. When implementing new systems, we focus on removing redundant processes, and replacing paper based services with online services, wherever possible. Some recent examples include the introduction of electronic smart boards and a new fully online booking system.
The smart boards allow seamless integration between the speaker, the powerpoint presentation and attending delegates. Handwritten notes on the board are instantly digitised and shared on the e-readers as PDF documents. The new booking system improves the administrative process, saving the environment and enabling even more resources to go into our programmes.
With the introduction of advanced e-readers as our learning materials platform, we will realise a number of additional benefits:
• Less paper used - saving trees
• Less waste/recycling - lower waste disposal costs and pressures on landfills
• No heavy learning materials for delegates to carry around
• Easier access to lesson materials using the e-reader's search function
• No risk of individual course sheets being lost
