Rinkya's Yousei (Elf) Yourself 4th Annual Report
Rinkya's Yousei (elves) tell what the Hot sellers are in Japan.
- (1888PressRelease) December 11, 2010 - Tempe, AZ and Tokyo - Rinkya's Yousei (elves) who dwell deep within the Rinkya warehouse packing and shipping Japanese goods to the rest of the world have gotten used to this annual report, once again greeting us with milk and cookies laced with Saki as they give us a quick snapshot of the holiday shopping picture.
The oldest Yousei said "Can't spend a lot of time this year yakking, both the new French site and Rinkya Stores have us exhausted up to our eyeballs.
"Toys and games are at the top," said the Yousei heading up the Gamer Department. "The Super Mario 25th Anniversary for Nintendo, Monster Hunter (sold out), anything Metal Gear-toys, calendars, posters, Pokemon Black and White are big deals."
"The market for MIJ and CIJ guitars is really getting gigantic, especially through Rinkya Stores. Les Paul and Orville seem to be making the biggest noise, this year, and Paul Reed Smith aren't far behind."
"Collectibles ,definitely," added one Yousei, wiping off a milk mustache. "Maybe the biggest story is the resurgence this year of the Blythe doll, but all the Disney stuff is pretty big, like a Mickey and Minnie Mouse Sony Walkman. The French are really interested in animation cels, and Dollfie Drem. Gadgets are becoming super stocking stuffers with bunny butt USB's and Pocky guitars.
The cosplay/fashion maven Yousei, grabbed a cookie and continued, " Fashion may be the biggest story this year. The government sort of got behind the designers and artists with a whole 'Japanese Cool' promotion and we are right there with them. Gothic Lolita (Goth Loli) with those maid outfits. Sexy!! Samurai T-Shirts, Star Leggings, Traditional Yukatas, and Hello Kitty still has the fur flying. High end Chanel bags are really moving along with Seiko watches, Japanese designer jewelry, and Samurai bracelets. Hair combs new and antique may be a surprise, but the showrooms at Rinkya stores are moving all of these categories pretty fast.
A chubby Yousei, milking his break with a handful of cookies said, "The new Miso Kit Kats are my biggest temptation, tough to pack up and not sample. Green tea and Wasabi are staples now. Yummy!!! A little early to tell about 'Ukon no Chikara', the Japanese hangover cure, seems to be catching on big time, but we'll have to wait for the New Years's Eve orders to see if it's going to be giant."
Rinkya CEO Heather Russell led the Rinkya Yousei in their annual toast to Rinkya customers worldwide: "Meri Kurismasu and Happy Year of the Cured Hangover."
