Riggs Construction Transitions to Third Generation of Leadership
Bill Riggs and Amie Riggs Swarts purchase their family's 52 year old business.
- St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) June 21, 2011 - Riggs Construction & Design, a Kirkwood design-build remodeling firm established in 1959, has been acquired by the brother and sister duo of Bill Riggs and Amie Riggs Swarts. Outgoing President Tom Riggs, father of Bill and Amie, is retiring after 41 years of service to the company, after building Riggs Construction into one of the most respected remodelers in the country.
Amie started with Riggs Construction in 1996 as an office assistant, and Bill started as a laborer in 1997. Today Amie serves as the vice president of sales and marketing and Bill is the vice president of administration and production. Bill and Amie officially became co-owners of Riggs Construction and Design as of June 1, 2011.
"Bill and Amie have played a monumental role in the growth of the company over the past 15 years and have proven they are ready to take the reins," said Tom Riggs, outgoing president of Riggs Construction. Riggs Construction, founded by Bill and Helen Riggs in 1959, has a longstanding history in the St. Louis area. After 20 years of remodeling and building custom and subdivision homes, Bill and Helen's children, Tom and Pamela Riggs, took control from their parents, with Tom later buying the business.
