(1888PressRelease) July 24, 2008 - Ricardo Cabral is an ActionCOACH based in Ponta Delgada City, Portugal and recently won a prestigious “Action Man” award during ActionCOACH’s annual UK/European and African conference held recently in London.
As a former IT manager for the biggest company in the Azores, Cabral has learnt a thing or two about business over the years. It was a desire to share his knowledge and experience with others that led him to become an ActionCOACH in 2007.
“I was looking for a business opportunity that would allow me to be independent,” he says.
“But I also wanted to be able to share my vision for business success with others. ActionCOACH was the perfect opportunity for me - one that gave me the independence that I was looking for but also allowed me to help others to reach their own business goals. I derive enormous enjoyment and satisfaction from helping other business people.”
Ricardo’s clients come from the Ponta Delgada area of Portugal and are involved in a variety of different sectors, from construction to health. According to Ricardo, many of the problems his clients face are common ones.
“A major headache for many of the people I coach is time, or lack of it,” he says. “They are too involved in the day-to-day running of the business, and as a result they are trying to do everything themselves and there are simply not enough hours in the day for that. On top of that, they have problems with cash flow, and building a strong and reliable team that can operate the business without them.
“I try to show them the techniques and strategies that can drive their business forward and let them relax and enjoy life more. What is essential is that they show the willingness to leave their comfort zone and change their ways, only then can the business start to go forward. This is difficult for many people but with my help and advice anything is possible.”
Ricardo gets tremendous satisfaction and enjoyment from his ActionCOACH role and hopes to continue it for some time. Outside work, he enjoys reading and sailing.
Ricardo believes that success in business is all about being results orientated.
“My clients stay with me because the strategies I help them implement get results,” he says. “If they need help with advertising then I have a solution, if it is good financial advice they need then I can help with that also. It may be hard work to put my recommendations into practice, but when they see the results, they realise that it has been worth the effort. This in turn gives them the drive and ambition to take their business to the next level. Once you have seen the benefits that new strategies can bring you are more prepared to go out there and change things for the better.”
