Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) - Two very successful days for DENSO, inventor of the QR Code
DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit presents innovations: FrameQR Code, Secure QR Code SQRC® and the QK30 scanner.
- (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2016 - Düsseldorf/London. Recently, the Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) took place in London. With more than 15,000 visitors, the RBTE is the most important exhibition for Auto-ID solutions in retail, and numerous technology companies and retailers are drawn to the UK to participate in the event every year. The participants included the experts on mobile data capturing from DENSO, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code, the FrameQR Code and the Secure QR Code SQRC®. The main topic this year was the digitalisation and its impact on the retail industry.
Together with seven technology partners - Yoyo Wallet, Cub Business Systems, VME Retail Systems, OCS, SATO, Syntechnologies and Banctec - the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit introduced three innovations for mobile data capturing at the RBTE: the customisable FrameQR Code, the forgery-proof Secure QR Code SQRC® and the brand new QK30 scanner. Janina Bender, Marketing & PR Consultant of the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit, is satisfied with the results at the RBTE: "The RBTE was very successful for us as a lot of visitors were interested in our booth. It was always well attended and we, as experts for mobile data capturing, handheld terminals and scanners, were glad to get into fruitful conversations with our new and old partners as well as with potential new clients. Everyone was highly interested in our new products, which of course makes us very happy." Further information on the scanners and handheld terminals, the QR Code, solutions for mobile data capturing and DENSO Auto-ID can be found at http://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html.
The new and innovative QK30 scanner presented by DENSO, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code, was one of the highlights at the RBTE. Combined with an app developed by the partner company Yoyo Wallet, the QK30 makes an all-in-one cashless payment and loyalty system possible at the POS. Both customers and retailers profit from the QK30 scanner as payment with a mobile device is made easy via the app by Yoyo Wallet. While paying, data are processed and in turn used to provide personalised offers or discounts to the customer. Additionally, DENSO presented two innovative versions of the revolutionary QR Code: the FrameQR Code and the forgery-proof Secure QR Code SQRC®. The FrameQR Code can be customised individually and is perfect for advertisements, posters or business cards. With the Secure QR Code, sensitive data can be encrypted and hidden from third parties. The data can then only be decrypted with the corresponding scanner that has the same decoding encryption as programmed by the original owner of the QR Code.
Another highlight at the RBTE was DENSO's presentation entitled "The Future of QR Codes in Retail". It was very well attended and attracted even more visitors to the DENSO booth, the experts on mobile data capturing, scanners and handheld terminals. The attendees of the RBTE were able to learn more about innovative digital solutions for the retail business and even to pick up a little giveaway: QR Code luggage tags, which saved address and contact data as a QR Code, so that they could not easily be read by anyone else.
Sina Haupt, Marketing Assistant, concludes: "The RBTE has once again made clear that the digitalisation and therefore mobile data capturing is a main topic for the retail business. Our solutions show how important it is that technology and retail develop strategies together and are mutually supportive. This was ideally put into practice at the RBTE." Further information regarding all DENSO products such as handheld terminals and scanners for mobile data capturing, the QR Code and DENSO Auto-ID are available at http://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html.
