Restaurants & Nationally Acclaimed Musicians Come Together In Support Of Children'S Cancer Day On July 27th
Junki and Linda Yoshida Will Host Thousands of Attendees at their Annual Fund-Raising Event.
- Toledo, OH (1888PressRelease) June 28, 2013 - The Soulful Giving Foundation will host their fourth annual Artful Giving Blanket Concert on Saturday, July 27th on the beautiful grounds of Junki and Linda Yoshida's private estate along the Sandy River in Troutdale, with KPTV-12 News and Weather Reporter Andy Carson presiding as Master of Ceremonies. Three thousand ticket holders are invited to enjoy 28 arts & craft booths, silent auction activities, delicious food from some of the finest restaurants in Portland, and an incredible musical line-up featuring: Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Mingo Fishtrap, the Monophonics, and Linda Hornbuckle & Friends.
Participating restaurants at this year's event will include: El Gaucho, Morton's, Paragon, Jamison, Davis Street Tavern, Tree's Catering, NEPO 32, Salty's, Urban Fondue, Brix Tavern, Quartet, Bumper's Grill & Bar, La Bamba and The Riverview. As an additional treat, Man-with-a-pan chef Mark Staggs will be showcasing his talent by creating blazing calamari, and Duck Pond Cellars, Widmer Brewing, K&F Coffee, Crater Lake soda and Sake One will have drinks and assorted beverages available to enjoy.
With cancer being the leading cause of death by disease among children in the U.S., this year's event will benefit the pediatric cancer unit at Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel as well as the Providence Cancer Research Center. To honor the dedication of medical teams in this field, Governor Kitzhaber has issued an official proclamation designating July 27th as Children's Cancer Awareness Day. Although cure rates are increasing, close to 35% of children diagnosed with cancer will not survive and there has been an increase in cancer over the past 20 years.
Doctors and scientists studying and identifying the causes and cures of childhood cancers need the public's assistance to support advances in treatment. With this in mind, the Soulful Giving Foundation encourages you to come spread your blanket under the trees and help make a difference in the lives of children and those we love.
Pre-sale general admission tickets are now available on line at www.soulfulgiving.org for $25; $35 at the door. Premium tickets (including food & beverage tokens) are $50 and VIP - $100.
