- (1888PressRelease) October 06, 2012 - Today, Rep. Michael Grimm (R,C-NY) announced that he has received the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his re-election campaign against Mark Murphy. The attached letter of endorsement from U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas Donahue praises Representative Michael Grimm's commitment to pro-business policies that encourage economic growth and help create jobs.
"President Obama's failed policies have left our economy in a stagnant state and created a stifling environment for business growth," said Grimm. "As a former small business owner, I know that it takes a lot of work to be successful; however, current policies and government over-regulation have made it impossible for some businesses to survive. In Congress, I have voted repeatedly to cut red tape and burdensome regulations, increase access to capital, and stop the looming tax hike on small businesses in order to create an environment in which our local businesses can grow and create jobs. I am pleased that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce recognizes my ongoing commitment to job and business growth, and I wholeheartedly thank them for this endorsement."
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business organization representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions. Members range from mom-and-pop shops and local chambers to leading industry associations and large corporations.
