August Training Program in Denver Helps Individuals and Organizations Coach Families to Lead Healthier Lives.
- Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2010 - Dr. William Sears, renowned pediatrician and author of more than 40 books on parenting, who has been seen on Oprah and Dr. Phil, announced an exclusive training and certification program for individuals interested in becoming Dr. Sears L.E.A.N. Coaches. A L.E.A.N. Coach is a certified individual who trains parents and organizations to help children, expecting parents and families live healthier lives through Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition. The Dr. Sears L.E.A.N. Training and Certification (www.drsearslean.com/coaches) is scheduled for August 6-8, 2010, at the Renaissance Denver Hotel in Denver, Colo.
"L.E.A.N. Coaches have the unique opportunity to impact the future of our nation - one family at a time," said Dr. Sears. "Only by educating parents and giving them the resources to make healthy choices for their families will we really impact the health issues in our country."
The training, hosted by Dr. Sears himself, will prepare participants to become independent L.E.A.N. Coaches certified to teach L.E.A.N. Workshops - turn-key family education programs he developed. The workshops empower parents to make simple, practical changes in their daily routines that will help families build a lifetime of health. The simplicity of the L.E.A.N. program has resulted in positive clinical results because simple changes are easy for families to incorporate into their lives and maintain in the long term. Not only do the workshops coach families to make healthier choices, they also help address childhood obesity and nutrition-related diseases, such as type II diabetes, by offering simple tools for healthier living.
The August training empowers Coach Candidates to teach parents, expecting parents and caregivers simple techniques to help their children develop and maintain lifestyles of healthy eating and physical activity, which will in turn positively impact their children's learning and behavior.
Dr. Sears' L.E.A.N. Coach Candidates are people with a passion for improving the health and wellness of children, families and expectant mothers, including healthcare workers, childbirth educators, parents, community leaders, Head Start case workers, sports coaches, educators and others who are committed to improving the health of future generations.
"Coaches teach parents how to shape young tastes, model healthy behaviors and practice affordable healthy shopping, food preparation and eating behaviors," said Dr. Sears. "These skills help children develop healthy habits that improve their behavior and academic performance and allow them to grow into healthy and happy adults."
Though the rewards gained from becoming a L.E.A.N. Coach vary based on the specific goals of each Coach, some benefits include the opportunity to expand educational offerings to individuals under their care, the financial benefits of growing a business that focuses on the needs of others, and obtaining valuable education that will benefit others, their families and themselves.
The August training includes:
• Complete Instructor's Manual and materials
• Essential nutrition information taught by experts
• Teaching and group management techniques
• Interactive learning and hands-on activities
• Training and certification for selected L.E.A.N. Workshops
• Marketing tools and strategies to support outreach
