  • (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2013 - (Costa Mesa, CA) - Relay For Life is a 24 hour long fundraising walk that provides a fun and educational way for the local community to show their support for curing cancer. Relay Fitness Group will be at the event with the Evo i Indoor Cycle to raffle off. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Relay For Life.

"We're very excited to be involved with such an interesting and fun cause," stated Mark de Grasse, Marketing Manager for Relay Fitness Group. "We really like how the event incorporates charity, community, and fitness all in one."

The event starts at 9am on Saturday, June 8th and ends Sunday, June 9th. It will be held at Costa Mesa High School at 2650 Fairview Road in Costa Mesa.

The concept behind the 24 hour event is simple: show what a day in the life of a cancer patient is like. In addition to groups of people walking around a track for specific cancer causes, there will also be themed laps, music, entertainment, food, and activities.

Relay Fitness Group will be displaying the Evo Fitness Bike and will also be allowing people to try the indoor cycle and find out more about what makes it unique.

Unlike typical indoor cycles, the Evo Fitness Bike's frame rocks like a real bicycle. Whether you realize it or not, your core muscles and upper body are used when you ride a bike outdoors. They help to stabilize and balance your body while you pedal. Cycling professionals are able to use this rocking motion to counter-sway the bike, throwing more power into the pedals when they climb hills or perform all-out sprints. To see this motion, simply watch the next Tour de France and pay attention to how their bikes move when they stand.

"The Relay For Life event is a great cause to be part of," said Mark de Grasse. "It's awesome how the organization managed to organize a fundraiser that gets people educated about cancer while also encouraging fitness and raising money for a good cause."
