Rehabtech Asia Welcomes New Strategic Partners Now Held In Conjunction With 2nd Singapore Rehabilitation Conference
Asia's first and only trade event for the assistive technology, integrated care and rehabilitation engineering industry is proud to count Singapore's Centre for Enabled Living, Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports, and MOH Holdings Pte Ltd as its latest Strategic Partners.
- (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2012 - Singapore - RehabTech Asia, which is honoured to have Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau, Singapore Manufacturers' Federation (SMa) and SPRING Singapore also as Strategic Partners, comes at a time when there is growing interest in self-determined living and long-term healthcare, as Asia continues to age rapidly, with the numbers expected to grow to some 857 million by 2050 . At the same time, with 400 million people with disabilities in Asia , the demand for rehabilitation and therapy is rising exponentially in Asia.

Conference to drive thought leadership
RehabTech Asia is also now held in conjunction with the 2nd Singapore Rehabilitation Conference. Co-organised by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH), the Conference will be held from 27 to 28 February 2013.
With "Rehabilitation Technology & Innovation for Everyone" as its theme, the Conference is designed to be a platform for the presentation of international research in rehabilitation technology and physical medicine, and the discussion of acute and rehabilitation treatments. Featuring plenary lectures, scientific paper presentations and workshops, the Conference is supported by an 80-member International Advisory Committee. This Committee of academics and clinicians from around the world will provide guidance towards the planning of a comprehensive and stimulating scientific programme for a global audience.
Dr Kong Keng He, Conference Chairperson and Senior Consultant, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, TTSH, said, "The Conference will offer a focal point for delegates to examine the latest developments in all major sub-groups within the field, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, geriatrics, medical social work, nursing, paediatrics, and rehabilitation. Workshop to promote professional development
Another highlight of RehabTech Asia is the Assistive Technology (AT) Fundamental Course by Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America (RESNA). To be conducted for the first time in Asia, the Course will provide an overview of the numerous areas of AT, with multiple case studies to illustrate applications of principles and theories in AT provision.

It can enable people with disabilities and the aging population to live independent and fulfilling lives. RehabTech Asia will be held from 27 February to 1 March 2013 at Singapore EXPO Convention & Exhibition Centre.
