  • (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2012 - This past weekend of October 11th,12th, and 13th 2012 marks the 8th year of the Southeast's, and now the nation's largest Hip Hop and Rap music event, The A3C Hip Hop Festival. Three days of music with over 300 artists and DJ's, educational music industry panels, combined with hands on software and hardware demonstrations from top flight music industry manufacturers has resulted in a three day marketing and networking madhouse that exceeded 20,000 attendees over the three day period.

This marks the third year of involvement for Mike Repel of Reformatory Records who has had his artists perform on the festival the last two years running. It also marks the first year of involvement for his new business endeavor Repel Music Distribution, a company which offers the most comprehensive international digital music distribution in the industry and is on par with that of the major labels.

Mr. Repel has been a partial sponsor of the festival for the past two years and is a firm supporter of the festivals purpose.

"I immediately identified with the festival owners beliefs and his support of the independent music community. Brian Knott has created a platform over the last decade that allows upcoming independent artists to share the same stage as their idols and role models. This leveled playing field and sense of extended community is what independent music is all about."

Reformatory Records and Repel Music Distributions Increased brand visibility is not only limited to festival sponsorship either. For the last two years Mike Repel has exercised one of his favorite aspects of brand development, guerilla marketing, which he has been doing since before he was in high school. For the last two years, he and his teams have spread their promotional efforts from within the three day festival to Atlanta's college campuses, neighborhoods and nightlife.

Mr. Repels marketing history and his position in the industry as business owner made him a prime candidate as a panelist on Thursday Oct 11th of this year for the A3C Festivals marketing discussion on mixtapes titled "The Balance" at Criminal Records in the Little 5 points neighborhood of Atlanta. Sharing their personal industry expertise to the audience of up-and-coming independent artists, producers and DJ's along with Mr. Repel were industry heavy hitters Randy Roper (Million Dollar Dreamz), The Honorable C-Note, DJ Smallz, DJ Burn One, A-King of PNC Radio New York, Tef Poe, DJ Spinz, and DJ Chuck T.

Reformatory Records artists have furthered company visibility at the A3C festival which showcased Ciryl Da Great (2011 featuring G-Wicked of the HEENA KLAN also on Reformatory Records) and the newly signed SevenSixx which performed at this years A3C festival alongside Twista, King Louie and others this past Saturday October 13th on the groundbreaking Taste of Chicago Showcase, a historical event sponsored by Chris Matthews of X-Treme Promo, which showcased Chicago artists exclusively on the venues main indoor stage for the first time in the A3C festivals history.

Running two companies; marketing, promoting and networking for three days along with managing and photographing his artists is no easy undertaking but it shows what one mans determination, focus and personal drive can result in.
