Reflections Helps Baby Boomers Pass Their Wisdom Forward
Personal Wisdom Preservation Tool Debuts at Boomer Business Summit.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) March 17, 2014 - At the Boomer Business Summit today, KDB Software launched Reflections, a powerful software tool designed for baby boomers to document family histories, recount life experiences, and solicit thoughts and advice for sharing with family, friends and future generations.
"The baby boomer generation is acutely aware of their pasts and more concerned than ever about their personal legacies," said Kevin Devault, KDB founder and himself a boomer on a mission to preserve his family's wisdom and to provide closure between generations before they pass. "We saw the need for an easy-to-use product to preserve the wisdom we have acquired during our lives and share it with our children and grandchildren - an invaluable, though all too often forgotten, part of one's legacy."
Reflections helps people recall, organize and share their life stories through a non- technical, consumer-friendly user interface letting loved ones share their experiences, thoughts and memories, ultimately helping to renew multi-generational bonds. Reflections takes users through a simple interview process to create a series of e-books of their lives, similar to an encyclopedia which is familiar to baby boomers. The volumes include "Me," "Family," "Friends," "Journey," "Regrets," "Bucket List," "Advice" and "Ramblings." The result is a psychographic compilation of morals, values and attitudes that define each individual.
"I started using Reflections because I realized that many years after my father died at 59, I didn't really know him," said William "Billy" Kapler, one of Reflections' first users. "I never knew his hopes, dreams, disappointments, happiest moments or his greatest concerns. I didn't know him as a human being. I want my grandchildren to know more about me and my life and I am excited to share my times with them."
Reflections' robust, safe and secure "shareable wisdom" platform provides uncompromised protection, where privacy is controlled through each user's own opt-in sharing choices. The "do-it-yourself" intuitive interview process includes hundreds of built-in questions and topics to stimulate memories and emotions that prompt thought and discussion on what has mattered most. Users can answer questions by typing or speaking into a microphone then add photos, images and videos. They can enter chronological events into a timeline as well as locating geographic events on an interactive map. For seniors who aren't able to write their own story, a "Guide" (a family member, caregiver or member of the Association of Personal Historians) can write on their behalf.
