Blair and Son Floor Company began in 1951 as Blair Flooring. Family patriarch John Blair, a native of Arizona, was on a mission to revise public opinion with regard to hardwood floors in homes. His challenge was to convince people of the beauty, durability, and practicality of hardwood floors-this at a time when hardwood floors had gone out of style and were replaced with fancy selections of wall-to-wall carpeting. Having had a significant measure of success in his mission, the senior Blair partnered with son Jim to form Blair & Son Floor Company in 1970. In 1992, Jim's son Johnny joined the family business, and Jim's daughter Krissy followed suit in 2003.

Blair & Son Floor Company has made a lasting mark on the Pacific Northwest interior design motif with their craftsmanship and artistry as applied to installing, customizing, repairing, and refinishing hardwood floors.
