Rediscover Hollywood's First & Favorite Diva Through Peter Mac's Tribute Shows
Peter Mac's is opening its new shows at Oil Can Harry's in Studio City in October. After various unfortunate events at the previous venue, the show is moving on to a new location, an intimate, cabaret-style venue.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2012 - Peter Mac's is excited to announce the grand opening of its new home at Oil Can Harry's in Studio City. After more than 125 shows and 5,000 guests, Peter Mac's Supper Club has reached the end of its tenancy inside The French Market Place in West Hollywood. "On more than one occasion, the owners of the property requested that we censor the work that we do," DJ Schaefer, the show's producer, said. "The owners took issue with a fully clothed picture of Peter where his legs were slightly splayed, deeming it 'too provocative.'"
In addition, "both Peter and I take offense to the owners' most recent communication, in which they stated that they do not want a gay show in the market, nor do they consider themselves to be a gay restaurant. This was the final blow in a series of deeply personal and professional hits, and Peter Mac's Supper Club will be moving to our new home where we look forward to thanking our past and future supporters in person. I am grateful that Oil Can Harry's has made room for us in their venue, and Peter is excited to return to work and do what he loves," Schaefer said.
Oil Can Harry's is the longest running gay bar west of the Mississippi, and Peter Mac's Supper Club is proud to be a part of a venue with such history and reputation. Oil Can Harry's prides itself on being everyone's place to call their own, no matter who they are or what they like. Peter Mac's Supper Club is overjoyed to be working with a venue that shares these ideals that Peter holds so close to his heart. The new shows, beginning in October 2012, will be performed in a specially designed, cabaret themed space in Oil Can Harry's upstairs loft. The space has a very warm, welcoming feel, and holds true to the design and ambiance of a traditional cabaret.
This fall, Peter Mac's Supper Club will feature two main shows: Judy & Company and The Golden Girls. Judy & Company is a live performance in which Peter Mac gives each diva her "fifteen minutes of fame," telling stories from her life, singing the classics and captivating the audience with her humor and talent. In The Golden Girls, you can see these ladies live on stage in a loving, yet hilarious, parody tribute. Peter Mac brings this geriatric mother/daughter duo to the stage and knows this senior citizen sitcom show will make you laugh and touch your heart.
Each of Peter's shows offers something unique and engaging, so guests can always expect something new and exciting, no matter which show they attend. Peter Mac prides himself on his ability to educate people about the ladies' lives and talents and truly loves what he does.
