Rebound Furniture Holds "Perfect 10" Fundraising Party to Benefit Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors
A portion of all sales from October 10 event will go to The Angeles Clinic Foundation to benefit Breast Cancer research and support life as a survivor.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2013 - Will I ever be normal again? The hardest part is over and I'm just going to bounce back to my life before diagnosis, I'll get back to "me" in no time.
This is a common struggle Breast Cancer survivors face, and unfortunately, it's kept hush-hush. But reality must be talked about, life has forever changed and embracing this "new normal" is a survivors light at the end of the tunnel.
In 2010, Jeanne Bulmer, managing partner at Rebound Furniture moved back to Los Angeles from London to help her mom, who has stage 4 Breast Cancer. Soon after, Jeanne was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Working full time through chemo and radiation, the last day of treatment was supposed to magically end this nasty fight. She did win the fight, but very differently than imagined. She "rebounded" by listening to that little voice inside.
"I just kept saying, I will rebound from this, I'm going to rebound. Good isn't good enough, something great has to come out of the bad. I'm going to be happy," states Jeanne when asked about adjusting to life as a survivor.
Sharing success stories like Jeanne's, as well as the struggles survivors face are necessary to "rebound" from Breast Cancer.
"Support for life after Breast Cancer is an untouched topic rarely talked about. Awareness of it is necessary for everyone touched by cancer," stated Cathie Chung, M.D. Oncologist at The Angeles Clinic and Jeanne's Doctor
To benefit The Angeles Clinic Foundation and their continuous research of Breast Cancer in all stages, Rebound Furniture is hosting a fundraising party, Perfect 10 at their West Valley showroom (21723 Vanowen St. Canoga Park, CA 91303) on October 10th, 2013 from 10 am to 10 pm.
This all-day affair will feature a bazaar of pop-up shops carrying everything from custom letterpress, reclaimed messenger bags & jewelry to eyebrow threading. They'll even have a pop-up portrait studio with real-time features.
Rebound's entire inventory will be on sale and custom designed pink themed furniture will be ripe for picking. A portion of all sales proceeds will be donated to The Angeles Clinic Foundation. Proceeds from the $10 raffle tickets will be donated in their entirety. Prizes range from mobile massages to dinner to original artwork….all donated.
