Real Housewife of Beverly Hills to Publish Tell-All Memoir
The latest to put pen to paper is Brandi Glanville of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
- (1888PressRelease) March 15, 2012 - Irvine, CA - As if they're not rich enough, many of the stars of Bravo TV's Real Housewives series have signed on with major publishers to write their life stories-all of which promise to bring in the bucks.
The latest to put pen to paper is Brandi Glanville of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, whose book will focus on her divorce from husband Eddie Cibrian and his illicit affair with singer Leean Rimes.
"As an actual real housewife of Orange County who has written and published my life story," says Judy Joseph Hamlin, author of the book "From Riches to Happiness," "I can say it's not an easy thing to do. A lot of soul searching goes into the process, and you have to be willing to share some things you might not be too proud of. I don't even have half the scandals these women have and it was hard for me. I don't know how they keep on doing it."
Brandi Glanville says she has spent the last two years writing her book-longer than she's been on the show that's made her a household name. It wasn't until she became one of the most infamous housewives in the country that publishers showed an interest in reading her manuscript.
Several other of TV's Real Housewives have already released their own books covering a wide range of topics:
* New Jersey Housewife Danielle Staub's autobiography chronicled her younger years of lies, drugs, and abuse.
* Kyle Richards of Beverly Hills took a different tone and offered positive advice in her book on love, marriage, and beauty.
* Taylor Armstrong of Beverly Hills wrote about the pain and loss she experienced after her husband's suicide.
* Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson detailed her rise as a self-made businesswoman and star of the show that started it all.
* New York City Real Housewife Alex McCord released a book about her experiences raising her children in the city that never sleeps.
* Nene Leakes of Atlanta's memoir echoed her real-life no-nonsense attitude as it tackled her painful childhood, single motherhood, and rise to celebrity status.
"Everyone likes a good rags-to-riches story," says Ms. Hamlin. "And these housewives' books promise to give the dirty details. But what about those of us whose lives are just the opposite? I was a 'real housewife' who gave it all up to find myself. In the end, I believe that's a more real story than anything these women can offer."
