  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2011 - Executives from Madison Commercial Real Estate Services (MCRES), are teaching and coordinating speakers for "The Art of the Deal," a 14-week real estate investment basics course sponsored by Professional Career Services (PCS), a division of Agudath Israel of Lakewood, N.J. Community Services, Inc. Nearly 50 Lakewood community members are participating in the well-attended program, which covers both residential and commercial real estate and explains how to find property, evaluate its worth, negotiate the deal and close successfully.

"Despite the economic slowdown, there remains a strong market for investment property in the New York City area," said Moshe Becker, Director of Operations for Madison SPECS, part of the MCRES family of companies, and coordinator of the course. "As real estate professionals based in the Lakewood community, we appreciate the opportunity to share our expertise with those who want to better understand the field." The course, which was facilitated by Lainie Goldberg, Director of Education for the Madison Learning Center, has proven to be appropriate for both novice and experienced investors.

Mr. Becker noted that in a recent survey of the members of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), more than 60% of investors indicated that the U.S. still offers the best potential to foreign investors for capital appreciation. The survey participants overwhelmingly chose New York and Washington, D.C., as the two top global cities for real estate investments.

To assist those interested in learning more about this market, "The Art of the Deal" guides participants through the entire investment process, from initial evaluation to profitable ownership and management. Classes include: Property Basics; Identifying an Existing Property; Building a New Property; Buying an Existing Property; Financing a Property; The Closing Process; and Managing the Property. Participants are learning how to work successfully with brokers, comply with rules and regulations, ensure due diligence and clear title, and secure necessary financing. Additionally, the course covers the basics of property management for establishing and maintaining profitable ownership.
